The Sakai Takayuki Black Ceramic Honing Rod is made of special ceramic that is much harder than traditional white ceramic used for ceramic rods and works well on harder knives. The #2000 grit and fine surface quickly hone your knives during working in the kitchen. The tip of the rod has a rubber end cap to stabilize it on surfaces to prevent wobbling and scratching your blade when you sharpen knives.
