Product Description

Nanbu Tetsubin or cast iron teapots will keep tea hotter for longer because cast iron conducts heat efficiently and distributes heat evenly. These teapots are also durable and wear-resistant, so you will not have to worry about replacing them for many years. Japan is the second largest producer of cast iron and these teapots are of high quality.
Boiling water with cast iron teapots helps remove chlorine and gives the water a milder taste.

Care
Before the first use
Lightly rinse the inside. Fill it with water up to 80% and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Then discard the hot water. Repeat this 2 to 3 times. At first, the water will be cloudy due to metal residue, so repeat this 2 to 3 times and make sure that the boiled water has become colorless.
After using
Discard the hot water remaining inside. Leaving hot water in the pot for a long time can cause rust and the water to become cloudy. Remove the lid and completely dry the inside before storing it. Do not touch the inside of the iron kettle.
Red spots will appear inside of the pot as you use it, and then a white film will appear but never scrub it off. Once the film has formed, the water will remain clear even if the inside is red, and the water will taste even more delicious. Please rest assured that iron rust is not harmful to your body.
Do not use detergent, cleanser, or steel sponge to wash it as this may cause more rust.
